Singapore Journal - Hayden

Day 1:

We went to the Gardens by the Bay and it was so nice. We went to Cloud Forest and the Super Tree. I felt super happy but I still miss my parents and Coffee. I hope I can feel better today and enjoy the fun. The Super Tree was called Super because on the roof of the tree, there are actually a lot of solar panels to give power to the tree and it can release heat to the other plants nearby to give them more energy to grow healthily. While in the Cloud Forest we saw Avatar characters and it was so amazing when we went at night because there were lights shining everywhere!

Day 2:

We went to the Art Science Museum which is inspired by Team Lab, but then we went back to the hotel and rested. Then, we went to Singapore Zoo and saw humongous animals such as lions, elephants, and even giraffes. We went to the food court and ate scrumptious foods such as KFC with humongous chicken and I had a fruit cup which I nearly ate all the pineapples, whilst Miss Janice drank some tasty coke. We then went to the amazing and dark Night Safari where we rode a tram to see the animals in the surrounding area but that was not enough for us. Some animals such as the white tiger were not shown when riding the tram so we later went to look at the wallabies and out-of-sight animals! We then went to the souvenir shop where Dax bought a very cool water bottle and I bought Winnie the Pooh straws which looked kind of nice, so I bought them for when I get back to Hong Kong. I will have some nice memories from the Night Safari! We went back to the hotel by taking the Mandai shuttle bus and took a taxi back because Summer was too tired. I hope I can experience the amazing scene at Singapore Zoo and Night Safari again since when riding the tram in the dark, we can't really look and take photos well because the tram turned off all the lights. I like the Night Safari because it's exciting when riding the tram in the dark and feeling like the animals will pounce on you at any moment.

The size of the cages and tanks was always bigger than the animals there to give them space or them to walk around and not feel squished, but I do not think that the space there is enough for the animals to be happy. They are supposed to be living freely around their own habitat, not put into cages and tanks!

Day 4:

We went to Merlion by bus and walked across a bridge to see the famous and ancient and old and traditional Merlion! When we got there, we took some photos and Dax said that we should rest in a restaurant because it was too hot and a bit stuffy! We then rode the bus to Chinatown because we all agreed that it was the fastest way, and we can relax and sit down. Then we walked around and bought some cool stuff for my family in Chinatown such as Merlion-shaped cookies, a snoring pig on a keychain, and a cool bubble tea keychain! After that, we went to the food court to eat the famous Hainan chicken. It was so delicious! I nearly finished it all but x the vegetables! Then we went to Forest Adventure which is my biggest nightmare since I am afraid of heights, but I only managed to go halfway of Level 2 and needed to come back down and try Level 1 which was so easy I tried it three times! Then it was really the end of the day and time go to back home and enjoy the time Nathan is staying!

Reflection:

My most unforgettable moment of this trip was going to Gardens by the Bay since it was the only thing like that in the whole world and because the Cloud Forest was so cool with lights and because it was Avatar-themed. It made me more cheerful since I was missing my parents at that time!

My most favourite place of this trip was Merlion because I longed to see the half mermaid half lion creature that all tourists who went to Singapore recommended to go to since it was so ancient and old and traditional.

I felt a bit nervous before the trip because I was not going to see my parents and family for so long, but I feel way better after going to Universal Studios, which made me remember the time I went there when I was 2 years old.

I think I need to work on how to enjoy a trip without seeing your family for a few days and I also think I have done something well which is only calling my parents sometimes at the hotel not on the street. If I had a chance to do this again I would because I can still enjoy the fun and calling my mum! I just feel like we can both enjoy and call our parents besides we will see her in a few days.
