Kirby’s Cross-dimension Adventure

By Andy Pang

Prologue : The Cross-dimension Assault

It was a serene and tranquil night. The twinkling and sparkling atmosphere glistened in the midnight’s ocean of azure and coal black.

The stars and the moon drifted languidly in Planet Popstar. Kirby, an exhausted expression hanged on his face, gave a sigh of weariness.

It had been an elongated day. His expeditions with Bandana Waddle Dee, King Dedede, Metaknight and Magolor, through distinctive realms and saving the cosmos were fortunately over and it was time to have a cessation of chasing gangsters around the universe.

Out of the blue, an astonishing trauma vibrated through his body. At the outset, Kirby presumed it was just him jolting because of his tiredness, but as he examined his forearm and ribs, another lurch dispersed through his body.

This time, Kirby knew the quakes wasn’t generated by his body. He was positive that it was either a seismic activity or the mining bustle down under the subways of Planet Popstar.

But on second thoughts, he realized that any earthquakes would be gesticulated to the citadel of King Dedede, and mining events wouldn’t still conduct in these twilight times.

“This has to be a work of evil!” Kirby exclaimed, still half-bewildered, ran to his friend’s nearby room – Bandana Waddle Dee’s –as the chamber rumbled and he nearly collapsed.

Scurrying as rapid as he can, Kirby suddenly heard a shrill, familiar voice calling for help.

Kirby gasped – It was Metaknight – and is something was troubling him; it would definitely be a real turmoil or commotion.

Suddenly, a weird and unique-shaped mushroom with curved brow and evil growl pounced at Kirby from nowhere, pinning him down as a boom of pillar and bricks thundered.

There was then another call for help, and then the whole palace fell into ruins, taking Kirby, Bandana Waddle Dee, Metaknight, King Dedede, Magolor and the citizens inside with it…

Chapter 1 : The unexpected reunion

Kirby’ lungs tightened, suffocating him as he tried to worm his way out like a caged animal. The boulders and colossal rocks were trapping him under the ruined and wrecked castle and he was attempting to haul himself back to the exteriors of the damaged castle.

Finally, Kirby gave a hard thrust and he tumbled out of the rigid floor, dusted with stiff and vast pieces of stone.

Kirby gave a sigh of relief. It was simply great to been capable of heaving himself up a few meters below a damaged fort with strengthened portcullises and battlements even when he was out of breath and tired to extreme.

But as he took a full gasp of refreshing, fresh air, an urgent message bombarded his mind.

“Bandana! The king! Metaknight! Magolor!” Kirby exclaimed, hardly waiting to cultivate through the ground even if he had to.

If the place where he dug up was directly above the grand stairs, Bandana’s room should be just besides me… Kirby suddenly realized. Sprinting towards the opposite course he was facing, Kirby ignored the severe pain of his ankle, and still determinedly head towards the ruins of the watch tower.

“Bandana!” Kirby echoed through the dense stratum of rocks and boulders. “Kirby!” A familiar and dry voice illuminated Kirby. Was it Bandana? Kirby stared down through the rocks and saw a minuscule hole stretching through the darkness.

“Is that you?” Kirby started, his voice croaking in joy, ready to celebrate. “Yes!” The voice of Bandana Waddle Dee boomed, “Metaknight, the King and Magolor are with me too!”

This was too good to be true. But as he fumbled to fling the bulky boulders away, a squeaking sound emerged from behind him.

“An Awoofy!” Kirby yelled, trying to let his friends underneath the soil know that a handful of these hostile and vicious monsters had arrived.

And as one of the Awoofys pounced towards him, Kirby quickly unleashed his supernatural power, and a powerful beam enveloped the incoming Awoofy, trapping him in the glittering beam, then pouting it out seconds later, making it unconscious.

But another Awoofy pounced towards him, and beneath the vision of the brown, aggressive fox, one of the distinctive, evil-looking mushrooms appeared out of thin air again…

Chapter 2 : The narrow escape

Kirby dodged to a side and managed to send an Awoofy to sub-consciousness as it carelessly drooped to the ground.

Heaving his arm to a side and neglecting the exploding pain in his ankle, an Awoofy aimed at him and charged, hoping to pulverize his body. Kirby scooted to the shadows, declining into a shallow pit next to the site he heard his friends.

The pit was dim and humid. Even though the entrance of the pit was just metres away, the illumination of the moon was completely gone.

“Are you there?” The accent of Bandana Waddle Dee strengthened Kirby’s point of view. Abruptly, an Awoofy and one of the bizarre mushrooms disrupted the perfect judgement Kirby was experiencing.

Assembling all his assurance and energies, Kirby stared at the Awoofies and the walking-mushrooms as they examined the pit to see if it was shallow enough for them to have an accurate and precise landing. Rapidly, Kirby opened his mouth and took a deep breath.

“You’ll see the end of this!” Kirby grunted, powerful beams of golden light swirling systematically through his body, engaged onto the inward monsters and the glaring of his eyes changed to rays of inferno.

Kirby quickly unleashed the golden rays, shattering the surface as Kirby landed from his brief levitation. The tumbled boulders blocked the ceiling, and now he was safe, but only then…

Chapter 3 : The Troublesome Trouble

Kirby panted, and each pant seemed to be his very last. His momentum and vigour seemed to be all depleted from his beneficial form.

He breathed in again, this time soothing his limbs as he did so. This relaxed his body and he reverted his energy and strength. He released and launched a force orb towards the barrier of sarsens. The energy orb exploding, dust hovering.

As the dust dissipated from the space, few figures arose from the mist. There was one with a javelin, one with spread-out guest wing, one with a lilac-coloured hat with shimmering magic, and one enormous diagram with a gigantic hammer.

“Bandana!” Kirby leaped into the air with pleasure and bliss. He had no words, and seeing his friends were the most that can evaporate his fatigue away once and for all. “ King Dedede? Metaknight? Magolor?” Kirby’s voice rebounded through the earth.

“It’s us!” Bandana’s voice surged through the haze of powder. Kirby, wide- eyed, shook his head in scepticism. For a split second, Kirby’s discomfort and agony from his ankle all slithered away, and he ran into the clearing.

Kirby gave another inhale of doubt. Even Elfilin was there, smiling at Kirby. Kirby’s cheeks turned reddish and Bandana swiftly embraced him, shrieking in joy.

“It’s so good to see you all!” Kirby exchanged glances to his friends, “It had been difficult defeating some Awoofies and some mushrooms!”

There was a hasty pause. No one answered and responded to Kirby’s statement.

“Mushroom, you say?” Magolor broke the muteness, “ Then our worst dreams have come true…”

“What’s that?” Kirby started, but was briefly intermittent by Metaknight, “Goombas…” “Goombas?” Kirby begun. “Have you gone to Waddle Dee school yet? Goombas, the evil doers of another realm – The Mushroom Land.”

“He’s not a Waddle Dee.” King Dedede spoke in, swung back and forth towards Kirby, “I think you made an hole out… Let’s go!”

“The hole might not fit for you…” Kirby bellowed quietly, but a momentary interruption interfered Kirby’s word. The growling of the Goombas intensified, and it seemed to be a warning.

“We have to go to the Travelling star. It will teleport us to The Mushroom Land. We’ll need to meet the mirror of ourselves there to know how to defeat them.” Elfilin ordered, his voiced stuttering in nervousness.

Kirby couldn’t believe it. One second he was enjoying a happy reunion, and the other his friend was plotting of cross-dimensional adventures again?

Chapter 4: the Newfound realm

Kirby didn’t hesitate. He followed his friends to the path he made few moments ago, who seemed to be paying no attention to the rumbling just then.

Suddenly, The rumbling sound grew so immensely that the boulders from the ceiling malformed. “Oh no…” Kirby whispered, backing away. A few moments later, a Goomba landed swiftly on its feet, then charged towards Bandana Dee. Bandana was quick on his feet too, but before he could equip himself, the Goomba thrusted into him.

“Bandana!” Kirby ran to his friend’s aid, but another monster from his realm attacked – Gordo.

Gordo was an enemy shaped like a blue marble withs jagged, wounding spikes. Kirby dodged, but Magolor wasn’t fortunate, the Gordo hit him instead of Kirby.

But this wasn’t all of the enemies. Few Chillies, snowman-like foes with freezing and wintery powers, charged at Metaknight and he collapsed.

A Walf, a whale-liked mob, rammed into King Dedede. A Buffahorn, the cramming beast, crashed and bombarded Elfilin.

It was just chaos, but Kirby and his friends managed to clear them just by guzzling them down – the natural power of Waddle Dees – and by damaging the foes by dodging them and let them succumb to oblivion.

And in a minute, Kirby and his friends were free after overwhelming the group of monsters, also including Gnawcodiles, Needlouses, and Blade Knights.

And in the other minute they were heading to the central of the Waddle Dee Country, and teleported to the Mushroom Land by the teleporting star…

Chapter 5 : The Confrontation of Mushrooms

Kirby, stunned and dazed at the rough landing at the Mushroom Land, he stared around in bewilderment.

A second he was surrounded by panting and gasping friends in his world full of dust and ruins of a variety of buildings.

Then, in this world, it seemed like everything was flawless, not counting the ash covering the surface of the bouncy peaks and slopes.

“What happened here?” Kirby asked, puzzled. “It’s the mirror and twin effect. If our world is in ruins, so is this realm.” Magolor clarified, giving details of how the heroes of this world should still be here because of the mirror effect

“But what about the monsters?” King Dedede inquired, knowing that if the Goombas have travelled to their dimension, surely their monsters from their world should be here too?

“No, I don’t think so. But the Awoofies, Gnawcrodiles and Chillies were easier to defeat, and the Goombas were harder. What if they were bosses from this world, and our bosses from our world came here while the weaker ones stayed?”

Bandana questioned. It seemed like a reasonable financial statement to Kirby.

But nobody cared about it too much, and they started to plot out their plans and split out. King Dedede was to assign their roles. Magolor, Metaknight and him will proceed to scout the area, and Kirby, Bandana Dee and Elfilin were to locate the heroes of this world.

After agreeing to meet at this particular position after half a day later, Kirby, Bandana and Elfilin set of, ready to discover where the heroes were, or were they dead by now?

Chapter 6 : The Procedure of Hope

Kirby’s heart pounded as he and Bandana, along with Elfilin set of towards the dawning sun, crawling above the horizon.

This job seemed to be significant and he would be grateful if this were a normal method to locate the heroes. But now it was only him, Bandana and Elfilin and he didn’t believe they would succeed. Metaknight is a superb swordsmaster, while Magolor is a supernatural sorcerer and King Dedede being a leadable and powerful hammer-wielding king. Why cannot they take this employment?

However, Kirby just promenaded behind Elfilin, who seemed sure of himself being able to lead the way, sprinkling magic dusts around all in a jiffy, while explaining crucial concepts about The Mushroom Land.

After a period of an hour or so, Kirby sat down to relax and have a rest. Just as Bandana and Kirby cured and restored their health, a Gorimondo appeared.

Gorimondo was a giant ape with grey skin. He was able to hurl stones at victims. It seems like the theory about bosses venturing into this world was true.

Bandana, a skilled Waddle Dee quickly confronted it with his javelin, but in a sudden, Kamek, which Elfilin said was the advisor of the end-of-all-levels-boss, Bowser.

Kamek, along with his magical charming powers, charmed Bandana and forced him to retreat. Elfilin, with his essential and basic magic, barraged Gorimondo while Kirby propelled an energy orb towards Kamek, who was paralyzed by the attack and distorted through the air.

Panting, Elfilin desperately tossed a weak, mystical sphere towards but even though it damaged Gorimondo, Elfilin was unnaturally forced to flee and take refuge, with Kirby defending him.

Bandana, with a valiant soul, provoked and threatened the beast once again. This time, as Bandana Waddle Dee pierced Gorimondo’s skin with his spear, he crumpled and faded away.

Was their destiny founded already, or will their friends live to hear about this victory, or will they ever find the heroes of the Mushroom Land?

Chapter 7: The Scouts

Magolor grunted, his swirling bonnet shimmered with magic pixels as his hands indicated the Shy guys at the distance,

It seemed like scouting was a dreadful idea, but Metaknight and King Dedede was into it as much as he would if this task involved his most preferred food at this time – curry.

And now, Shy Guys, murderers of the Mushroom Land and Clawroline, an epic boss of Planet Popstar were ambushing them. As his magic eventually lassoed a vicious Shy Guy, Clawroline assaulted him, sending Magolor soaring airborne.

Seeing the surprise attack swiped by Clawroline, MetaKnight advanced towards Clawroline, unbridling his mystical power – to swing people to epic lengths with his sword.

“Foolish Clawroline..” Metaknight muttered under his breath.

For King Dedede, he swung his hammer at every direction, striking the Shy Guys. And at last, Magolor recovered and rejoined the group.

Maybe, I should think about being a scout more often! Magolor pondered, a grin spread out on his face as they began scouting the area. And no matter what happened, these friends would always be each other’s aid.

Chapter 8 : The Team-up

Amused and smiling, Kirby chuckled as the thought of convincing and meeting Mario, Peach, Luigi, Toad and Donkey Kong.

Now, he and his old and newfound friends were discussing their plan. “It’s Bowser. He’s a madcap boss with flame-breaths and fury-conquering skills.” Mario, the mirror representation of Kirby stated.

Nodding, Peach added in, “He’s got a kid too. He’s Bowser Jr. He’s sometimes good and sometimes bad. He’s helping and assisting his father this time.” Then, Kirby realized Peach was Elfilin’s mirror self.

Thinking back about how they met Mario and his friends, the only things he could recall to his remembrance was that they had found them strategizing how to defeat Bowser in a blurry cave guarded by tender Koopas who sided with mario.

“So, we got the plan right?” King Dedede enquired. “Yes!” All members of the gang shouted, ready to execute their duties and save the cosmos. “Let’s Go!” Kirby screamed.

Chapter 9: The plan of the Gang

Kirby was back in Planet Popstar after recruiting Mario and his friends. Elfilin, Metaknight, Luigi and Toad was assigned to defeat Bowser Jr. while Kirby, Peach, Mario, King Dedede, Donkey Kong, Bandana Waddle Dee and Magolor faced off Bowser.

They all understood that it would be a rough battle but everybody knew that they have to sacrifice in order to succeed.

As Kirby silently led the group towards the inky black figure in the sky with stained spikes – Bowser, who recently stole the power of the Fury world, according to Peach – they perished all the monsters on lands such as Fluerinas, Wild Bonkers Wild Edge and Wild Frosty.

Heading towards the centre of the ruins of the castle of Waddle Dee, the gang formed a plan : Kirby was to levitate and distract and get the attention of Bowser ; Magolor was to spray Bowser with weakening magic ; Kind Dedede and Donkey Kong would cover Bandana and Kirby as they disembark from their hovering ; Mario and Peach were to attack Bowser from above.

Dashing as close to Bowser’s levitating position, Kirby gave a thumbs up as Mario and Peach darted towards the other segment and floated indolently and slothfully upwards with Peach’s parasol-like dress.

Few seconds after Peach and Mario took off deliberately, Magolor aimed at Bowser and began chanting mysterious words, mustering an adequate proportion of energy to finish his spell about to cast onto Bowser.

Subsequent, Kirby and Bandana took off. Kirby swung away his uneasy and panicky sensations and stared off the wrecked environment.

He could see the ‘Waddle Dee Restaurant’ up here but the only thing recognizable was the Waddle Dee flag among the remnants. Seeing the site of losing his beloved café was devastating, but it only kept Kirby more determined than ever.

“While there is still hope, we’ll never lose!” Kirby bellowed as loud as he could, but Bowser seemed to never let these words basin into his ears. Kirby’s friends from every direction cheered, and even the other squad which was already dealing with Bowser Jr. cheered to witness Kirby and the others ready to defeat Bowser.

Chapter 10 : The Crisis of Destiny

Kirby gave a deep gulp of air. His heart was beating and it loosened his nervousness and eased his arms and legs.

Closing into Bowser’s upwards spikes, Bandana caught a glimpse of Mario and Peach, waiting for his signal. Kirby glanced down and saw Magolor giving a thumbs up, and Kirby strained his mouth, jetting a strong current of wind towards Bowser.

“Roarrrrr!” Bowser lifted his head in the sensation of the strong breeze. Fire concentrated in his irregular and jagged teeth and just when the blaze was about to set Bandana and Kirby alight, Mario swung his cape towards Bowser.

Bowser screamed in agony, this time aiming and releasing his hyper beam to the way of Peach. Peach tried to decrease his height in the air by parachuting down with her umbrella, but she was not in time to do so.

Peach fluttered downwards in pain, with King Dedede catching him right on time. Mario attacked, catching Bowser’s attention.

But before anyone could react, Bowser shrieked and Bronto Burts, enemies from Kirby’s world and Winged Biddybuds attacked Mario. Unexpectedly, Bowser fled assembling stamina as his crashed to the floor, bombing the ground team and cracking the surface of the ruins of the citadel. “No!” Kirby screamed, hurtling through the air towards Bowser for revenge.

Magolor, floating in mid-air, chanted once more, and flicked his hand at Bowser, making him paralyzed. “We have to gather all our powers to defeat him once and for all” He shouted, raising a hand and a sizzling bolt of energy zapped Bowser. Kirby widened his mouth and a beam of light and brightness poured onto Bowser. Bandana pointed at Bowser with his javelin, pixels of poison spraying out of its tip.

Mario swung his cape towards Bowser ; Donkey Kong hurled barrels of explosives towards him ; Peach, who just recovered from his pain and she pointed at Bowser with her umbrella and Bowser got ripped ; Finally, King Dedede struck his sledgehammer at Bowser and with a final screech, all enemies from the Mushroom Land exploded to pieces and Bowser was dead, once and for all, and his evil reign was over.

Epilogue : The End

The other friends came to intersect with Kirby and the other. “That was great, I defeated Bowser Jr. with a slash of my phantom blade!” Metaknight said. “I was the one who distracted him while Toad attacked with his frying pan!” Luigi giggled.

And no matter whatever the ending is, the friend’s connection will never end and there will never be a time of ashes ever again.

The End
